{"id":3496,"date":"2018-07-05T16:26:32","date_gmt":"2018-07-05T13:26:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.lnb.lt\/lituanistika\/?p=3496"},"modified":"2018-08-27T16:29:56","modified_gmt":"2018-08-27T13:29:56","slug":"a-book-on-lithuanian-polish-relations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.lnb.lt\/lituanistika\/2018\/07\/05\/a-book-on-lithuanian-polish-relations\/","title":{"rendered":"A Book on Lithuanian-Polish Relations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On July 4, Dr. <strong>Giedr\u0117 Mileryt\u0117-Japertien\u0117<\/strong>, the head of the Lithuanian Studies Unit of the Documentary Heritage Research Department at the National Library of Lithuania, presented her monograph \u201cImagining Lithuanian-Polish Relations in Emigration from 1945 to 1990.\u201d The monograph examines the fifty-year Lithuanian-Polish relations in emigration \u2013 real contacts as well as ideas, cultivated in private intellectual gatherings, which marked mutual cooperation or provoked hatred. It also highlights a wide debate in the press about the future of Lithuania and Poland, and the attempts to answer the question: What ideas and who in particular resulted in today\u2019s harmonious relationship of the two neighboring countries?<\/p>\n<p>The book will be soon published in Poland.
