Photo credit: The Australian Lithuanian Archives <\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The Lithuanian-Australian\nnewspaper \u201cM\u016bs\u0173 pastog\u0117\u201d informs that last December the Australian Lithuanian\nCommunity, Inc. Board of Directors decided to invigorate the Australian\nLithuanian Community Archive so that it is the preferred option for people to\ndonate their archive material. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a result the\nBoard appointed a management committee, currently chaired by the interim chair <strong>Tony Cibiras<\/strong>. The committee is also\nlooking for \u201carchive ambassadors\u201d in all communities and the organizations to\nhelp promote the Archive. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Committee\u2019s\nlonger term plan is to collect, collate and digitize the history of Lithuanians\nin Australia and make it available online. One of the options being discussed\nis to partner with the National Library of Lithuania to gain access to the\nportal <a href=\"http:\/\/www.epaveldas.lt\">www.epaveldas.lt<\/a>. Another is to join with the Lithuanian Archives\nProject in Chicago <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lithuanianarchivesproject.org\">www.lithuanianarchivesproject.org<\/a> and use their portal. \n\nOn November 1, the\nAustralian Lithuanian Archives shared another piece of news.
