Birželio 20-21 d. Lietuvos nacionalinėje Martyno Mažvydo bibliotekoje vyks tarptautinė konferencija „1918 metai Lietuvoje ir Lenkijoje iš dabartinės Vidurio-Rytų Europos perspektyvos: istorija, politika, kultūra“ skirta Lietuvos ir Lenkijos valstybių atkūrimo šimtmečiui.
Konferencijos tikslas – aptarti Lietuvos ir Lenkijos bei kitų Vidurio ir Rytų Europos šalių kelią į nepriklausomybių atkūrimą; pristatyti naujausius XX amžiaus pradžios lietuvių ir lenkų tautinių sąjūdžių raidos tyrimus bei požiūrius į Lietuvos ir Lenkijos politinę tradiciją. Greta istorinių temų, konferencijos pranešėjai gvildens šiuolaikinio pasaulio problemas: dabartinių Lietuvos ir Lenkijos valstybių užsienio politikos paradigmas, abiejų šalių vietą Europoje bei pasaulyje.
Renginyje dalyvaus istorikai, politologai, sociologai, kultūrologai, filologai ir kitų sričių mokslininkai, kurie pasidalins savo tyrimais apie Lietuvos, Lenkijos ir kitų šalių istorines, politines ir kultūrines dimensijas Valstybingumo šimtmečio atkūrimo kontekste. Konferencijoje dalyvaus mokslininkai iš Lenkijos, Lietuvos, Ukrainos, Čekijos, JAV ir kt.
Konferencija vyks anglų kalba.
